i was out walking Oreo this morning. It was too beaautiful to come back in.
It is amazing this year. The last couple of weeks the Maryland Crabs have been so good. It is hard to get enough of them.
I know that it has to do with the time of the year, but it just seems that they’re sweeter this year. No many how many bushels that we order Ethan has to order more for Sunday.
This coming Saturday it is SPECIAL DELIVERY on stage from 4 to 8. Please remember there is no parking in the lot past the Pub on the left. Towing is enforced and please no parking on the grass on the lot across the creek. We want to remain good neighbors and respect their property. Of course we want everyone to have a great time.
The Sunflower Festival opens on Saturday August 27th. It has been a challenge to say the least to get this far. Several of the Pub Patrons have been instrumental in helping us get this far. Marvin Wells has worked tirelessly fighting the County & the elements to get the Site ready. It just seems when it looks like he has it whipped that a big storm comes and washes it away. Briah Lizear and his crew are building the Ticket Booths and the Kettle Corn Building. They are doing an awesome job. Byron & Crash are building all the counter tops with no time to spare. They are going to start to install their masterpieces on Tuesday. It is starting to come together. It will take a couple more years to finish the entire project but what an undertaking.
I spoke with Pete the other day. he is getting along fine. Miss Linda and I will have to take a trip down to visit after I get this stuff taken care of.
In case you may have wondered why I put this is the Pub Mail, well it is because you are all family and I want the straight story out so everyone has the straight story. Speaking of story the latest as of Friday is that I have Cancer in my upper body, my chest, my groin area and my colon. The doc said it is a Rare within Rare form. Now leave it to me. I don’t do anything halfway. That’s the bad news. Now the GOOD NEWS. Surgery to remove my colon will take care of that part. Chemo will take care of the rest. In other words it is totally curable. The problem is with Dorreen around, I am not sure I can handle both together. I have an awesome support system so I foresee brighter days ahead. Miss Linda wont let me see it any other way\

Well, The Preseason started this week. Unfortunately, I missed the “Skins” game yesterday. I understand that they lost by two. I don’t know how they played. My grandson, Joseph, and I after many hours of tough negotiations, came up with a bet again this year. So far I am 3-1 in the win column. I am going to have to buy him a Chef’s hat if this keeps up. If the “Skins” have a winning season, I win. If not I lose. The bet is a dozen chocolate chip cookies made from scratch. He does make a good cookie.
Can you believe Frederick County Schools open this week? That is totally ridiculous. Someone ought to educate the School Board that this is Kids Time. School time starts after Labor Day.\
See you at the Pub.
