What a beautiful morning!
The new menu launched on Tuesday and so far, all the comments are very positive, a good thing.
The menu is available on the website, buckeystownpub.com for your viewing pleasure. You have to come in and try some of the new choices. As you know Mary is back to help out on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday days. She said that it will take her awhile to learn the new recipes. Doreen is having a tough time finding the items on the computer. The reason for that is that is she is not logical. For instance, one of the new appetizers is Apple Fritters. They are excellent. You have to try. Anyway, she couldn’t find them on the computer. I asked her where they were on the menu. She gave me that Doreen look. You know the look. Well, I said how about trying under Appetizers. You would think that I hit gold in California. I need say nothing more.
A week from Friday is the Pub’s annual. Christmas Customer Appreciation Party from 6 to 8. It includes a Complimentary Buffet and Happy Hour Prices Plus $1.50 Festive Jell-o Shooters.
This coming Thursday Miss Linda and I board a plane to Switzerland where we board a river boat to travel through Switzerland, France, Germany and Holland to Amsterdam. Along the way we visit all the beautiful Christmas Markets, drink mulled wine and eat chimney cakes (a sweet confection). We will have a blast. We have been told to bring our snow boots. The only bummer is having to wear a mask for the 8+ hour plane ride.
This weeks Specials are:
Tuesday: Pub Mack w/FF
Wednesday: Fried Chicken w/2 Sides
Thursday: Ham, Cabbage & Potatoes
Friday: Meatloaf w/2 Sides
Friday Night: Chef’s Choice
I am going to try and do next weeks Pub Mail from the boat. I do not know how or if it will work. But I will try.
The First AYCE Buffet Breakfast of 2022 will be held on Saturday morning January 8th from 10:00 am to 12:00 nOON. Mark Your Calendars
Last weekend, The Redskins beat Seaattle which means my grandson, Joseph, now must make me a dozen chocolate chip cookies. Poor young man. He will learn not to challenge his Pop Pop.
Speaking of the Redskins, They play a 4:00 game today against the Las Vegas Raiders. I took my young son, Kent, at the time, 1984, to see the then Oakland Raiders beat the Skins in the Super Bowl in Tampa. It was the day before my youngest daughter, Kerry Beth, was born. We had to get back in a hurry. But I made it. What fond memories.
I spoke with Pete. He is getting a long well. His physical therapy is new and according to him, they are putting the hurt on him which is a good thing. Hopefully, they will build up hi=s strength so that he will no longer need the walker.
Alan is back and been helping out with the stuff that needs fixing. Yesterday evening, Larry visited the Pub. He is on dialysis. Helooked great and said that he had lost 50+ lbs. Hopefully, he will be off dialysis soon and be able to return to work.
Please enjoy your week. Come out and watch the Skins today.
See you at the Pub.
