What a beautiful day. Gonna be a little hot though.
Miss Linda and I ventured into downtown Frederick yesterday to see how they were doing the outside seating. Market street was closed and East Patrick Street had barricades set up where the parking used to be and the space was filled with tables. All in all, it was done very well. We stopped in Isabella’s and sat at the bar. Limited seating of course. I managed to have a beer and we had some food. It was enjoyable to be able to sit in a bar stool for a change.
We left and headed to the Pub to find out that we didn’t have any Crabs left. I couldn’t order any for Saturday. We had to many orders going out. To get Crabs on Sunday is difficult at best. Fortunately, Mr. B came through once again. We just got 13 bushels in. Which translates to 12 after we account for the dead ones. We do have Crabs and that is great. Not to get anyone confused. We set aside the Crabs for the orders that we had for today. They were covered, The Crabs that we got in are for orders we get today.
To make this an eventful weekend, our two friends that Miss Linda and I met in Budapest came up for Crabs from Baltimore by way of Sandusky. It is amazing that they got here. I guarantee a lot of people know about the Pub that did not know us before. Being asked for directions and all that. They drove past the Pub several times under the guise that they were checking out the neighborhood. Elizabeth ate a bunch of Crabs but Joan is allergic. Elizabeth made up for her though. Joan meanwhile sampled the menu. Needless to say they had a good time and loved the Pub. They do get the Pub Mail and had heard of Doreen. I have to admit that they said that she lives up to her reputation.
I tell you one thing. Those Crabs that we had were the best. Nothing can beat Maryland Crabs. They were so sweet and tasty. I get anxious just writing about them.
Lunch Specials start this week. There will be no lunch Specials on Monday. They will run Tuesday through Friday. Unfortunately, the price has gone up to $7.95 due to the increased food cost. Still the best food deal around.
This Week’s Specials are:
Tuesday: Sloppy Joe w/Onion Rings
Wednesday: Fried Chicken w/2 Sides
Thursday: Grilled Rueben w/FF & Cole Slaw
Friday: Country Fried Steak w/2 Sides
This Wednesday starting at 4:00 the Frederick County Building Industry Association will hold their Annual Crab Feast with a few changes this year, No more than 6 to a table and no Buffet. A good time will be had by all. You cannot dampen the spirits of this group. Bring the Crabs on. Have you ever seen a Crab social distance? Me neither. Unless you are talking about Doreen.
Hope to see you at the Pub.
