History of the Pub
The Buckeystown Pub was established in August 2004 by the Three Fools (Dick, Pete, and Ronnie).
Prior to its purchase from Jim King, The Buckeystown Meat Market specialized in fresh cut steaks and chops as well as the area’s only deer checking station for over 30 years. In his last year here, Jim processed over 300 deer, many of which were donated to the Frederick Soup Kitchen.
After purchasing the Pub, the Three Fools decided that a friendly, neighborhood pub serving good food and beverages at reasonable prices was going to be their identity. “Where Friends Meet” became their motto. A steam room was added as well as a concrete patio. The following year, a tent was purchased and Saturday Night at the Pub became a reality with live music starting at 6:30 and ending at 10:30. Horseshoe pits, and more recently corn hole and darts, were added for customer enjoyment.
In year three, the Pub introduced seafood including crabs and oysters (in season) to Buckeystown and boasts having the Best Crabs in Frederick, Maryland at reasonable prices.
The Pub is also committed to the local community. Each year they donate the proceeds from the Tip Jars to Carrol Manor Fire Department. In addition, the Pub hosts numerous charitable events. In 2015 alone, over $32,000.00 was raised for local charities.
During the summer months, the Pub hosts crab feasts for various organizations as well as private parties anytime! Give us a call for your next event!
